A DHI paddle wavemaker equipped with an active wave absorption control system is installed in the wave basin. The paddle is 7m long and 1m high. The system includes software to synthesize input waves (monochromatic, spectral, time series).

DHI wave gauges are available for the measurement of the free-surface elevation in the wave basin.

ADP (Acoustic Doppler Profiler), ARGONAUT-XR type current meters from SONTEK are available for the measurement of sea current speed distribution, and RCM7 current meters from AANDERAA are available for the measurement of the local speed of sea currents.

The station consists of (a) a submersible LOWARA pump (diameter of the pump 4″, power 1.5kW, delivery from 2.4 to 9m³/h for 77-23m head and maximal head 85m), and (b) a generator (power 6KVA with a B&S gasoline motor of 11HP power). The station can be used for groundwater sampling as well as for small scale pumping tests.

A SONTEK ADV (Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter) velocity measuring device is available, for the measurement of the instant velocity of water in the flumes, the wave basin and in hydraulic models.

A number of SEBA propeller velocity meters are available with different propeller diameters and pitch, for a wide range of water speed measurements in the laboratory flumes as well as in the field.

In-Situ Inc. Aqua TROLL 200 sensors are available for continuous monitoring of level, temperature and conductivity of groundwater.
